    ---------------------------------------------------

Singers north of Stroud and Stroud itself will rehearse in Stonehouse on 4 Tuesdays.
Singers south of Stroud will rehearse in Alveston on 4 Thursdays.
These 8 rehearsals are for non-audition choir singers who need some extra rehearsals and also need introducing to the works.

There are 4 group rehearsals and 2 workshops as well as the final rehearsal when everyone is expected to attend.  Please see the attached rehearsal schedule for full details.

We will be running buses from Thornbury to every Gloucester and Cheltenham rehearsal and the performance. These will leave from outside Aldi in Thornbury which has two car parks adjacent to it. The cost will be £15 per trip and the 33-seater coach will be operated by Mike’s Travel.

    ---------------------------------------------------

Because of Berlioz not writing in altos we have a rather different rehearsal schedule this time.  Sopranos take the S1 part and altos take the S2 part.  All singers will be OK attending either Stonehouse or Alveston.

In the group rehearsals, we will be rehearsing with Choir 1 to the conductor's left and Choir 2 to his right.  Choir 1 is all sopranos, Tenor 1s and Bass 1s, Choir 2 is all altos, Tenor 2s and Bass 2s.

We will do the Berlioz first in each rehearsal and in alternate weeks follow that with women first doing the Faure followed by men with the Brahms, vice-versa the other two weeks.

Also, members can buy tickets for the performance here. Tickets are £42 main nave, £32 centre nave, £22 rear nave and £15 aisle.  See attached seating plan.

    ----------------------------------------------------

The running order is the Fauré/Messager Messe des pêcheurs de Villerville for women's voices, the Brahms Alto Rhapsody where we will be joined by Dame Sarah Connolly and then after a short interval for rearrangement the Berlioz Te Deum with Liam Bonthrone as soloist.

Our concert manager Trevor Bartlett's instructions are as follows:-

NOTE: MUSIC FOLDERS WILL BE PLACED ON THE SEATING PRIOR TO THE AFTERNOON REHEARSAL. PLEASE USE THEM AS IT PRESENTS A MORE UNIFORM EXPERIENCE FOR THE AUDIENCE RATHER THAN LOOKING AT VARIOUS EDITION COVERS. PLEASE TAKE THEM WITH YOU AFTER THE REHEARSAL SO THAT WE CAN ENTER THE CONCERT WITH OUR FOLDERS IN HAND. Those in the North Transept carry them in their right hand, those in the South Transept carry them in your left hand.

AT THE END OF THE CONCERT PLEASE RETURN THE FOLDERS AND ANY HIRED SCORES TO THE BINS PROVIDED. THE FOLDERS ARE BEING BORROWED FROM LOCAL CHOIRS WHO REQUIRE THEM BACK AND OF COURSE OUR CHAIRMAN HAS TO RETURN SCORES THAT HAVE BEEN HIRED WITHIN THE HIRE PERIOD.
